What lengths would you go for love?
Romeo & Juliet
By Williams Shakespeare
Directed by Nicholas Granato
Sunstone Theatre’s 2024 production of Romeo & Juliet transformed Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy into a bold and visually striking Western reimagining. Performed outdoors on the orchard pasture lawn at Trillium Creek Training and Rehabilitation Coalition in Wilsonville, audiences were invited to picnic under the summer sky as the Montagues and Capulets rode into the rugged landscape of the American frontier. Directed by Nicholas Granato and featuring KJ Snyder as Romeo and Zora Richardson as Juliet, the production blended the classic text with rustic Americana imagery, creating a world where youthful passion and long-standing rivalry collided beneath the open air. With its creative staging, live setting, and heartfelt performances, Romeo & Juliet offered audiences a fresh, immersive, and emotionally charged take on one of theatre’s most enduring love stories.
